SKYITL is a charity group set up by ten sixth form students from the Aylesbury Vale Academy. We have been raising money for Stoke Mandeville Hospital Children's Ward and have so far raised almost £1000.
Some of this money has been used to buy a large variety of Christmas presents which we presented to the ward on the 23rd of December 2009. We took 19 large present bags filled with over 350 gifts.
To raise this money we have so far:
· Walked 24 miles from the Academy to Wendover woods and back.
· Serving refreshments at various events such as Haydon Abbey Christmas play and parents evenings at the Academy
To continue raising money we are hoping to:
· Do various other sponsored events
· Sell stationary at the Academy
· Hold various competitions within the Academy
· Have donation boxes in supporting stores such as Famous Footwear, whose manager kindly donated a DVD player, DVDs and cuddly toys as gifts.
